CENTRE COUNTY — Happy Valley Restaurant Week is returning to Centre County from Friday, June 13, through Wednesday, June 25. Happy Valley Restaurant Week allows local businesses to show off their skills and introduce the community to new dishes they haven’t tried before.

Starting on Friday, June 13, restaurants in Happy Valley will be presenting new entrees, drinks and desserts where customers can try by dining in the restaurant or ordering takeout from them.

“Happy Valley Restaurant Week is this fun time when local restaurants get a chance to flex their culinary muscles and have a little fun, and that fun extends to all the local folks who get to try their creations,” said Maggie Anderson, the organizer of Happy Valley Restaurant Week, explained.

As for the restaurants participating in this year’s Happy Valley Restaurant Week, the list continues to grow. Guests can check out the complete listing online to find restaurants that have been added, but here are some of the featured eateries.

  • Alloy Kitchen
  • Hublersburg Inn
  • HiWay Pizza Pub
  • Federal Taphouse
  • Allen Street Grill
  • Tasty K
  • The Naked Egg Café

Many restaurants take Happy Valley Restaurant Week as a way for them to find new customers and try out new recipes that customers may enjoy.

“This year, we’re particularly excited to feature some creative menu items from our past Monthly Chef’s Dinners. This offers an opportunity for our regular guests to savor some of their favorites once more and anyone who missed out before can see what all the fuss is about,” Adrienne Heidt, the owner of the Hublersburg Inn, said.

However, people who are eating in or taking out during Happy Valley Restaurant week also have a chance to win something other than a fun new meal. By posting your favorite meals you eat during Happy Valley Restaurant Week using the hashtag “#happyvalleyhungry,” you will be enrolled in a raffle to win a gift card to your choosing of any restaurant that is participating.

Restaurants will also be creating custom cocktails for Happy Valley Restaurant Week. These cocktails, along with their entrees and desserts, will only be available during Happy Valley Restaurant Week.

“I look forward to seeing what each restaurant puts together, whether it’s a molecular gastronomic creation, elevated comfort food or a fancy cocktail. I love that all different kinds of restaurants get in on the fun.” Anderson said.
